B: Yeah, I must admit that what he did took guts.

A: 존이 책임을 전가하지 않겠데. 자신의 팀이 저지른 실수에 대해

전적으로 책임지겠다고 상사에게 말했다고 하더라.

B: 그러게, 존의 행동은 용기 있었다고 인정할 수밖에 없어.

 

Pass the buck: 다른 사람에게 책임을 전가한다는 뜻이다. 이 표현은 포커게임에서 유래하였다. Take guts: 위험한 상황 앞에서 혹은 더 큰 위험을 마주했을 때 용기가 필요하다는 뜻이다.
