A: Why is fruit so expensive in the spring?

B: That’s because you buy fruit that is out of season. It’s all grown in a green house.

A: 봄에는 과일이 왜이리 비쌀까?

B: 그건 바로 네가 철이 지난 과일을 구입하기 때문이야.

out of : ‘~에서 벗어나다’라는 뜻으로 Season(계절)에 벗어나서 ‘제철이 아닌지난’ 이라는 뜻이 된다. 참고로 ‘in’은 반대의 의미다.

(be) out of season 제철이 아닌 (구하기 힘든)-Fruits and vegetables are said to be out of season if they don’t ripen naturally at that time of the year. Often the out-of-season fruits and vegetables are grown in greenhouses.

(be) in season 제철인 (한창인)-a period of the year when something is best or available a greenhouse 온실비닐 하우스 (보통 비닐 하우스라고 하는데 그 표현은 맞는 표현이 아니다.)
