A: Got any ideas about what we can contribute to the school’s fundraising auction?

B: How about those antique dishes we got from your great aunt? Someone might really like those.

A: 우리가 학교 모금 경매에 기여할 수 있는 아이디어 있어?

B: 저번에 너의 고모할머니한테 받은 옛날 그릇들은 어때? 어떤 사람들은 굉장히 그걸 좋아할 수 있어.

 

contribute : ‘기부하다공헌하다’라는 의미를 갖고 있다. 여기서 con-은 withtogether의 뜻이고 tribute는 allotpay(=주다)라는 뜻이다. 어떤 공동의 목표를 위해서 직접 기여하고공헌하고역할을 하는 것이다.
